Zoom Instructions

Let’s get connected.

Connect to the Zoom meeting about 10 minutes before the start time each day to make sure it’s working well.

During the event:

  • Use your first and last name as your in-meeting screen name. Hover over your name, click More, and choose Rename to change your screen name.
  • Keep yourself on “mute” when you are not speaking (any background noise gets picked up by your mic and makes it difficult to hear the speaker).
  • Use the in-meeting chat to ask questions or make comments. There are options to direct your message to the whole group or to a specific recipient.
  • You can also use the hand-raise feature to let the host know you would like to ask a question (available when you open the “Participants” menu).
  • Click here for detailed instructions on these in-meeting controls.

Connecting on your computer or mobile device:

  • Click the meeting link provided and follow the instructions in the web browser.
  • You can either download/open the Zoom app or join the meeting directly in the web browser.
  • If your internet connection is unstable, you can join the meeting online with your audio and video turned off, then connect by phone for your audio (see phone instructions below).
  • You can also use the hand-raise feature to let the host know you would like to ask a question (available when you open the “Participants” menu).
  • Click here for detailed instructions on joining by computer or mobile device.
